Baked Vanilla Donuts

With strawberry frosting!

Yield: 6 donuts

You will need:

For the donuts:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup milk + 2 tablespoons
  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt

For the frosting:

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons pureed strawberries


  • For the donuts- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a silicone or metal donut tin. In a large bowl, sift together all dry ingredients. Add in wet ingredients and mix until combined. No need to over mix. Optional: put batter in a piping bag to make less of a mess in the next step. Fill each donut tin about halfway, they need room to rise! Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes until the donuts just starts to turn golden. Let the donuts cool for 5-10 minutes before decorating with frosting.
  • For the frosting- Cream the butter and sugar together on low. Slowly pour in purée and mix until smooth.
  • Decorate your donuts however you like. My favorite topping is sprinkles!
